  This is not a JA related issue But here is what you can try. You need to add your pdf files in media manager. I would suggest you to create separate folder for pdfs in the media manager and upload files in that.

  Now you will need a path for your pdf file, like http://www.yourdomain.com/images/yourpdffolder/yourpdfname.pdf Check if the path is correct by using it in the browser, if you dont get any error then the path is right. Then you will have to link some text in your article (from which visitor should be able to download the pdf) to the pdf url you have. For linking, you can refer to http://writenowdesign.com/images/joomla-how-to-tips/joomla-training-1.5.2.16.html
