| Re: Dating Guide 'Bruce - I have the 2nd edition of the Rogers Book. Here's photos of the interiors of the hi-tom (8 x 12) and the floor tom (14 x14). Thanks for taking a look Bruce - I'm on the edge of my seat! Marc ' Marc, when I go to page 128 in the second edition Rogers book in the upper left hand corner I see a Cleveland, Ohio paper tag just like the one in your hi-tom. The caption below it say's that tag was used 1956 to 1965. I see a tag to the right of the Cleveland, Ohio tag that is a Dayton, Ohio, it looks the same as the Cleveland tag, except in the bottom right hand corner it has Dayton, Ohio instead of Cleveland,Ohio. Those tags were used 1966 to 1969. What am I missing. I see the tag in your floor tom, it is a inked out Tower tag with holiday penciled in the upper left hand corner. Using the Tower serial number dates that tag as 1966, the hex head screws and star washers date that floor tom to 1966, it could have been a special order and or the builder couldn't find a Holiday tag, so used another, this was a common thing. Hope this helps, Bruce | ||

| Re: Dating Guide Thanks Bruce. I was referring to the script badges on page 128 of The Rogers Book - not the paper labels. What I cannot reconcile are the dates of the serial #'s on the hi tom & kick (both are Cleveland Holiday's with B&B's) -- and the production dates shown in Bob Cook's Rogers book on page 128 for the style of Rogers script badge on the outside of the shell. | Re: Dating Guide The script badge started late 50s, there were a few short run versions, but the one that's on your 1962 drums started about 1961. Look at page 97, Gary Nelson's collection, look at the two B&B 6 1/2' snare drums, one is WMP. They have that same version script badge. I have a B&B 1961 Dynasonic with that same version badge, the Rogers book is wrong on that issue, it should be 1961 to 1976. Bruce | ||

| Re: Dating Guide I am new here too, My first Rogers drums were Cleveland toms as I said before believing them to be from a Top Hat setup. The 2-12's are serial number 54317 Left of center drum, The 54241 is mounted for the Right side position like where a 13 tom would go on a normal 5 pc rig. and the 16 floor tom is 11527 All 3 with Cleveland Holiday tags and Flat Gray insides, Blue Onyx Outside and Beavertail Next I have a 20x14 kickdrum 41975 serial number. Cleveland with B and B Lugs, Blue onyx wrap. 2 5/8 length B and B lugs. My next toms are a 12 and 13 One is a Dayton Holiday 12 Serial number 103182 Shew lotsa digits there Gray Speckle The 13 is a Powertone Fullerton Serial number 25416. The label looks like the old style Cle. /Dayton style but it is Fullerton. Both drums rewrapped. That is it so far. Last edited by chilipeppermaniac, 9/8/2007, 10:40 am | ||

I have seen ones with way different layout and a date like 9/72 on em, Mine is definitely not like that. Oh and I found it unusual too that the label is off centerish like down just above the bottom re ring. oh and haha about the 1958 | ||
